About Me
Nadine Nalson-Loos, feels that art has to be visually pleasing. It is all down to the individual. Many artists are of the opinion that they need to communicate their own psychological dark moods, political opinions etc. etc. .
Nadine paints in various styles and media. She paints her very colourful still-life, landscapes or scenes in pastel. She never uses black or white but just plays with colour which zing opposite each other. She aims for the colours to have a positive feel and vibration on the viewers’ mental state and mood. Colours can be healing, calming and invigorating. The paintings she creates in pastel are generally quite busy and invigorating and possess great vibrancy. Nadine hopes that her paintings, even if it is just for a temporary state of mind, lead to a little escapism from the misery, violence, poverty, hate, wars etc in the world.
Nadine was born and brought up in Belgium, Antwerp and has always been interested in art, since her childhood she followed extra classes and visited museums with her mother at great frequency. At the age of nineteen she decided and was determined to go and live in England but this meant that she had to work and that she did not have the luxury of studying art. It wasn’t till her mid-thirties where she reverted back to her great passion. She completed a foundation course at Reigate School of Art over two years and absolutely loved every minute of it. She always wanted to paint murals and therefore thought that going to Wimbledon School of Art, where she started the Technical Arts Interpretation course for Theatre would give her the opportunity to nurture her passion. However with a family and two small children the timetable did not exactly work out and Nadine returned to Reigate School of art where she finished her course in Fine art and Illustration. Nadine followed many extra courses since, where ever and whenever she could. She followed courses all around England, France and Spain. Nadine has successfully exhibited in London, South London, Belgium and Spain.
Life has taken on many changes and the second part of her life has now started, it has brought her to Spain, where she has taken up her brushes again with gusto.
Nadine likes variety and now mainly paints with Acrylic and Watercolour.
